Most instagrammable places in Singapore

Gardens by the Bay
One of the most iconic sights of Singapore are the Super Groves Tree. These majestic structures are wonderful during the day and at night. They dominate Gardens by the Bay and make it perfect for your Instagram photos. During our long stay in Singapore, we visited the area multiple times, and definitely the atmosphere changed day and night.
We suggest booking your ticket for the Skywalk and enjoying the view from above. If you are a budget traveller, don’t worry—there are many spots around the gardens where you can take pictures for free.
Location: 18 Marina Gardens Drive
Best time to visit: Early in the morning to avoid crowds and evening for the light show

The Jewel
If you arrive in Singapore by air, this will be your first and best spot is The Jewel at Changi Airport. We are sure Singapore Airport is our favourite airport in the world, and surely you will like it too.
There are several Instagram spots at Singapore airport. Start visiting the Rain Vortex, Located at T2, the tallest indoor waterfall in the world and is unique to visit.
I mean, it is the centrepiece of this airport. This stunning indoor rainforest and waterfall is today one of the most photographed places in Singapore. Mind that The Jewel is part of Changi Airport but is outside the immigration, so you must complete the Singapore arrival card to visit the shopping mall.
Location: Changi Airport
Best time to visit: Anytime (It will always be busy), but sunset is ideal for a good lighting

Super groves Lights show
I want to give a special mention to the night light show at Singapore Gardens by the Bay. During the day, the superstructures are stunning, but at night, with the lights, they are glamorous.
You must know that every day, there is a light show where you can witness the magic of the Supertree Grove lighting up with background music. The show is daily at 7.45 PM and 8.45 PM, and it’s free!

Water Lily Pond
We mentioned before that there are several spots around Gardens by the Bay that you can visit for free; Water Lily Pond is one of these. This is a quiet and serene spot in Singapore overlooking the amazing skyline with Marina Bay Sands and Supertree Grove.
Depending on when you visit Singapore, you might find the pond in bloom, like we did at the end of September. These Instagram spots in Singapore are not very popular. We were there around 9 AM, and there was no one around. However, if you want to catch the best light, we recommend visiting during sunset.
Location: Water Lily Pond
Best time to visit: Before 9 AM or sunset

Marina Bay Sands
Without any doubt, this is one of the most luxurious hotels in Singapore and one of the most instagrammable ones. By night, the landscape is amazing, and if you want a unique experience, you should check out the rooftop bar.
You can reserve a table on the website and enjoy a drink or a meal with a stunning view over Singapore and Marina Bay. If you are looking just to take your pictures, follow the directions for Marina Bay Overpass Viewing Point and you will find a cute spot for taking your pictures.
Location: 10 Bayfront Avenue
Best time to visit: Evening for the light and water show

Arab Street & Haji Lane
Alongside Chinatown, Arab Street and Haji Lane are our favourite spots in Singapore. The vibes, the colourful murals, and the bohemian atmosphere will make you fall in love with Singapore even more.
You will notice a beautiful contrast between historic architecture with unique buildings and modern street art, and this is what makes this area of Singapore so beautiful and popular. We first visited Arab Street during the day, and it was crazy busy.
We couldn’t even take a picture as there were so many people. But on a rainy day, we decided to return before 8 AM, and it was amazing. No one was around, shops were still closed, and it was perfect for snapping our pictures.
Location: Arab Street, Haji Lane
Best time to visit: Early morning to avoid crowds
Singapore National Gallery
There are a few nice Instagram spots inside the Singapore National Gallery. If you are an art and photography lover, this is the right place for you.
Housed in two national monuments, the former Supreme Court and City Hall, this gallery combines neoclassical with contemporary design. Before or after your visit, make sure you grab a coffee at Courtyard Cafe at the National Gallery. The place is really cute, and you can take some nice pictures as well.
If you can, visit the National Gallery during the week to avoid heavy crowds. Tickets are affordable S$20 (£12/€14/$15) for foreigners but free for Singaporeans. BOOK YOUR TICKETS HERE!
Location: 1 St Andrew’s Road
Best time to visit: Weekdays for a quieter experience

Peranakan Houses
Located around Koon Seng Road, Peranakan Houses are the most photogenic buildings in Singapore (maybe after the Old Police Station). From yellow to pink houses, each one is painted in soft shades that will make your Instagram pictures stand out.
Remember that, as it’s a residential area, locals are living in these houses; therefore, be respectful!
Location: Koon Seng Road
Best time to visit: Late afternoon or early in the morning to avoid car traffic

Murals and street art at East Coast Road
If you are planning a day out in the Peranakan and Katong Area, you should definitely add East Coast Road to your pin map. There are several spots for street art lovers, and two of our favourites are East Coast Road and Joo Chiat Road.
The murals offer vivid colours, with some inspired by life in Singapore and others by world events.
Terraced houses
Continuing our trip through the Katong area, walking on East Coast Road we found the Terraced houses. This is part of Joo Chiat heritage walks, which shows parts of Singapore not so popular among tourists.
Beautiful as the closest Peranakan houses, the Terraced houses are different from others, as they stand on high pillars to protect them from floods.
Little India
Little India is undoubtedly one of the most vibrant areas in Singapore, thanks to its vibrant colours, delicious food, and stunning temples.
The colourful Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple and the famous Tan Teng Niag Houses are the main spots in Little India for photography lovers. The DT line takes you right to Little India, and once you get out of the station, you’ll be teleported to another stunning neighbourhood of Singapore.
Location: Little India
Best time to visit: Mid-morning to early afternoon

House of Tan Teng Niah
While exploring Little India, one of the first spots that you will find is the House of Tan Teng Nianh, a unique and colourful building built in the early 1900s by a Chinese businessman.
This impressive building stands out for a reason. The bright hues and contrasting colours are perfect for portrait shots. To be honest, being such a perfect Instagram spot in Singapore, we thought that it would get busy. When we visited, it was okay with not many people around, and it was before lunchtime. The light wasn’t perfect, but we managed to get a few nice pictures.
Location: 37 Kerbau Road, Little India
Best time to visit: Early morning

Singapore Flyer
If you’re visiting Singapore on a budget, you can still take a few nice pictures of the giant Ferris wheel from Gardens by the Bay. However, if you’re looking for a unique experience in the city, we recommend hopping on top at sunset and enjoying the unique skyline that Singapore has to offer. BOOK YOUR TICKETS HERE!
Location: 30 Raffles Avenue
Best time to visit: Sunset

Selegie Arts Centre
This was a random discovery during our walks around Singapore. We were making our way back home, and while looking for the metro, we found this cute spot that we couldn’t miss mentioning.
This unique, colourful, and vibrant building is perfect if you’re looking for less-known spots in Singapore. It’s located between Little India and Bugis (below is the Google map location), and we were surprised that not many people knew about it.
Location: 30 Selegie Road
Best time to visit: Early morning or late afternoon

Fort Canning Park Tunnel
This might be one of the most unique spots in Singapore. However, if you don’t arrive before 8 AM, you will have to wait hours before you can get your shot.
The spiral staircase with the surrounding trees makes it perfect for your pictures. Still, as it’s one of the most instagrammable spots in Singapore, it means that there is a queue to get a shot. It was a rainy day, and we decided to try our luck.
There were few people in front of us but they took ageeeeeees to take a single shot. Whilst we understand that everyone wants to get the perfect in this case, I’d rather wake up early in the morning and don’t have to rush to get my pictures.
Anyway, yes, it’s super busy, but it’s worth the time! Beyond the staircase, Fort Canning Park offers plenty of open spaces, colonial-era buildings, and hidden corners that are perfect for leisurely exploring and capturing the essence of Singapore’s natural beauty. It’s also a great spot to visit if you want a break from the city’s hustle.
Location: River Valley Road
Best time to visit: Morning for soft light and fewer crowds at the spiral staircase

Old Hill Street Police Station
This is for sure the most unique spot in Singapore and I can’t believe how beautiful it is. Constructed in 1934, it once served as a police station (pretty nice, isn’t it?).
Today, it houses the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and was refurbished in playful and colourful tones when converted into a functioning public building. The location is quite far away from many other Singapore photo spots, so it’s nice to visit but not a priority.
With its multi-coloured facade, you can get really nice pictures. We recommend using a 50mm lens to capture the building as the backdrop. The location is a bit tricky as you don’t have enough space to take pictures without people crossing or cars, so be a bit creative; I’m sure you’ll get your shots at the end.
Location: 140 Hill Street
Best time to visit: Mid-morning for good natural light and fewer shadows on the building.
Clarke Quay
Let’s start by saying that when you visit Singapore with locals, everything is just better. We met with our friend Bel and went for a night out around Clarke Quay. We ended up in one of the coolest bars ever (LevelUp).
After dinner and drinks, we explored the area a bit, and you won’t believe how cute and romantic Clarke Quay is. With the riverside setting and mix of colonial and modern architecture, this will be your favourite place in Singapore.
We recommend visiting the area around sunset/nighttime when the lights are up and the buzzing atmosphere hits! Don’t forget to grab a drink by the river and enjoy a unique night out in Singapore.
Location: Along the Singapore River (one of the many).
Best time to visit: Evening, when the area is lit up, or at sunset for golden hour reflections on the water.

Merlion Statue
The Merlion Statue is surely a symbol of Singapore, part of the iconic souvenirs you can find everywhere in the city. We missed seeing the lion-mermaid statue twice, so we had to make it happen at the very last chance before leaving Singapore.
Known for its half-lion and half-fish figure, the statue offers an amazing view of Marina Bay and some quirky opportunities. Being a popular sight, it’s always crowded, so if you want a quiet photography session, we recommend arriving before 8 AM.
To be honest, when we visited the second time, it was 1 p.m., and it was okay. Just make sure you explore the surrounding area and don’t stick just around the statue.
TIPS | From here, you can see the night fountain show (far but clear) and the view of Marina Bay Sands in the backdrop.
Location: Merlion Park, One Fullerton.
Best time to visit: Early morning or late evening to avoid crowds and get the best lighting.
Japanese Cemetery Park
If you want to escape the busy Singapore life, the Japanese Cemetery Park might be the right place for you. If you visit during the right seasons, you will witness the beautiful bloom of the sakura trees. I’m a huge fan of the cherry blossom season.
In fact, every year, I wait for March/April in London to see Greenwich Park in full bloom. This Cemetery is also used as a park, and it is easy to spot locals early in the morning to do jogging and sports activities.
The park is quiet and serene. If you want to relax and take a few nice pictures, we highly recommend adding this place to your Singapore itinerary. Definitely, it’s the less touristy part of Singapore, so it doesn’t matter when you visit; there won’t be many people around.
Location: 22 Chuan Hoe Avenue.
Best time to visit: Spring for the cherry blossoms or morning for a peaceful visit.
Sky Garden at Capita Spring
Did you know that not every sight of Singapore is expensive? Yes, you heard it, right? The Singapore Sky Garden is one of the most trendy viewpoints in the city and is completely FREE. Capita Spring building offers free access to the rooftop sky garden, to enjoy the view of Singapore.
Located on the 51st floor at CapitaSpring, this rooftop garden is the city’s highest rooftop. Enjoy the beautiful view of Marina Bay, the Central Business District and the surrounding area. You must book your visit in advance, and it tends to be fully sold out within weeks, because of limited tickets available.
Check the website and reserve your spot. They allow visitors from 9 AM until 1 PM and from 3 PM until 5.30 PM and you can reserve your tickets up to 2 weeks in advance.
Location: 88 Market Street
Best time to visit: Sunset for golden hour lighting.

Mohamed Ali Lane
Singapore is full of street art locations, and Mohamed Ali Lane is one of the best places for all street art lovers. This side alley is packed with colourful murals, creating a unique contrast between old and new Singapore.
We spent an entire day around Chinatown and are glad we did. The area is so beautiful, and you can take so many pictures along the way. We recommend visiting in the morning or late afternoon when the light is better.
Keep in mind that there is only a small pedestrian path along Mohamed Ali Lane, and several cars pass through during the day, so be careful and always look around.
Location: Between Chinatown and Boat Quay.
Best time to visit: Early morning or late afternoon for good light and minimal crowds.

Chinatown bridge
Another iconic spot of Chinatown is the bridge that welcomes you to one of the most popular and oldest districts of Singapore. Get out of the metro in Chinatown and walk on the connection between Upper Cross Street and Eu Tong; the bridge is unmissable.
The picturesque bridge, with its modern skyline and colourful buildings, is perfect for snapping Instagram pictures.
Play with the angles and look around to find the best spot. As it was early in the morning, we had the entire time to roam around and find the best spot.
Location: Between Eu Tong Sen Street and Upper Cross Street
Best time to visit: Evening for the best lighting and to capture the city lights
Sentosa Boardwalk
We often refer to Singapore as London with beaches and sunshine. Sentosa Island is that posh part of Singapore that boosts fancy resorts, nice restaurants and trendy bars.
The best photo spot on Sentosa Island that you can add to your itinerary of Singapore is the scenic pedestrian bridge that connects the mainland to the beautiful sand drop. It’s definitely a unique spot with a lovely view of the city and harbour.
As many people tend to take the ferry to reach Sentosa Island, the boardwalk tends to be quiet during the day; however, the best time to take pictures is around sunset.
Location: Sentosa Gateway
Best time to visit: Sunset for beautiful skies and reflections
Redhill MRT Station
Calling all Barbie and pink lovers, this station is the perfect one for you. To be honest, we couldn’t believe how beautiful Redhill MRT station is and were surprised that not many people were around to take pictures.
We were visiting some friends and met here, and we couldn’t leave without taking a few pictures. Honestly, it might be a bit out of everyone’s route, but it’s definitely worth adding to your itinerary.
Location: Alexandra Road
Best time to visit: Early morning for minimal crowds

Library at Orchard
It doesn’t matter where we are; I (Ale) need to check out every single library and bookstore in every city. After the beautiful Livraria Lello in Porto and Dounts Books in London, this has recently become one of my favourites.
We were shopping around Orchard, and as the rain hit, we stepped inside the shopping Mall, Orchard Gateway, and while strolling around, found this library (Located on the 3rd Floor).
Thanks to its design, it’s perfect to snap your pictures; however, remember to always be respectful and don’t disturb other people while taking your pictures.
Although book borrowing is expensive for foreigners, you can easily spend a few hours inside, reading a book and enjoying the beautiful atmosphere for free.
Location: 277 Orchard Road
Best time to visit: Weekdays during the day for a quieter experience
Chinese Garden
The Chinese Gardens are tucked away from the main tourist attractions of Singapore, and that’s why many people tend to skip them. However, if you spend a little more time in Singapore, like we did, this garden can easily become your favourite spot in the city.
Filled with cute pagodas, traditional pavilions, lotus ponds, and gardens, they are the emblem of Chinese architecture and the early stages of Singapore as a country on its own. We recommend visiting either early in the morning and leaving before 11 AM or for sunset.
Location: 1 Chinese Garden Road
Best time to visit: Early morning for soft light and fewer people
Instagrammable temples in Singapore
Among the many things we love about Singapore is that the culture mixes in a way no other does, respecting each other and making the atmosphere unique.
Within a few streets, you can find many religions coexisting, and actually, people believing in different things sipping a coffee at the first Hawker Centre together.
When in Singapore, we couldn’t miss visiting unique religious places, such as mosques, Hindu Temples, Chinese temples, and even Christian or Methodist Churches. In the next few sections of our guide to Singapore photo spots, you can find the best places to visit.

Masjid Sultan Mosque
During all our trips, we visited so many beautiful Mosques like Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi and Sultan Mosque recently became one of our favourites. Thanks to its beautiful and vibrant exterior, you will understand why it’s one of the most instagrammable places in Singapore.
Make sure you roam around the Mosque to find the perfect angle. Most likely, you will end up along the main road to take pictures. However, if you’re visiting during the day, it will be impossible to take photos without anyone around.
We visited it twice: in the afternoon, when all the shops were open and busy, and another day during a rainy morning. To be honest, early in the morning was our favourite.
After taking your pictures, don’t forget to step inside the Mosque and visit the interior. The entrance is free and open for non-Muslims (on the side) as long as you respect the dress code. If you are wearing shorts or sleeveless tops, don’t worry—they provide appropriate clothing before entering.
Location: 471 Victoria Street
Best time to visit: Late afternoon for golden hour
Things to know: Videos are not allowed inside the Mosque

Masjid Malabar Mosque
If you think that Sultan Mosque is the only beautiful mosque in Singapore, you’re wrong. Just a few minutes away there is the most iconic and wonderful Sultan Mosque. We found this mosque, almost by mistake, while on the bus to get to Haji Lane.
Thanks to its vibrant blue exterior (So unusual), this is indeed one of the best Instagram spots in Singapore. Taking a picture here might be a bit difficult as it’s in the corner of a busy junction. However, if you catch the right moment when the traffic light is red, you can get really nice pictures.
Location: 3 Muscat Street
Best time to visit: Sunset

Sri Mariamman Temple
Hindu temples are just stunning thanks to their colourful and vibrant sculptures representing animals, mythological figures and sculptures. Sri Mariamman Temple is Singapore’s oldest Hindu temple and is located in the beautiful quarter of Chinatown.
Cross the road and find the perfect spot to snap your pictures. Step inside the temple and admire the interesting inside, and remember to always follow the dress code.
There are several rules you need to follow (all listed before entering), so make sure you respect them. When we visited the temple a guy was told off because he entered with the shoes when there is a clear sign that you need to leave them outside.
Location: 244 South Bridge Road, Chinatown
Best time to visit: Morning for bright daylight and fewer crowds

Buddha Tooth Relic Temple
We visited so many temples around the world and in South East Asia but this is located in the bustling Chinatown. It’s a traditional Chinese architecture temple that offers an amazing blend of modern and ancient.
They say that this temple houses one of Buddha’s teeth and, therefore, is a cultural and spiritual centre for many Buddhists, like the temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy, Sri Lanka. Once you step inside, you will be amazed by the decorations, hundreds of golden statues and details that this temple has.
The most instagrammable corner is by the main road, taking into consideration the angle which will highlight all the main features of this stylish Chinese temple.
Location: 288 South Bridge Road, Chinatown
Best time to visit: Late morning to early afternoon

Chijmes
This is one of the most beautiful spots in Singapore and almost impossible to beat. With its Gothic arches and glass windows, which are predominantly white, Chijmes is the perfect spot for your pictures.
Once you arrive at the entrance, make your way around the back. You will find several restaurants and bars where you can enjoy a coffee or a drink with a view. We really recommend stopping for a moment and truly enjoying the view. The courtyard is the best spot for pictures, so make sure you don’t miss it during your trip to Singapore.
Location: 30 Victoria Street
Best time to visit: Evening, when the lights are on, and the atmosphere is more magical

Most instagrammable hotels in Singapore
Raffles hotel
Thanks to its elegant courtyards, impressive white exterior and colonial architecture, which dates back to 1887, Raffles Hotel is one of the most instagrammable hotels in Singapore.
Make sure you check out the lush gardens and enjoy a drink or a coffee at Long Bar, where every corner offers unique photo opportunities.
Location: 1 Beach Road
Best time to visit: Late afternoon for fewer crowds and soft light in the courtyards.
The Clan Hotel
Who doesn’t love a rooftop with an infinity pool, right? Well, the Clan Hotel is the right hidden gem in Singapore, where you can enjoy the beautiful view of the city skyline.
The pool is the perfect spot to enjoy a beautiful sunset over Singapore with a stunning view of the Central Business District. Despite the amazing rooftop infinity pool, this boutique hotel seamlessly blends contemporary luxury with traditional Chinese elements.
In fact, we loved the heritage tea ceremony as it added a unique cultural touch to our stay.
Location: 10 Cross Street.
Best time to visit: Sunset for stunning rooftop views.
Bus Collective
Singapore has an incredible array of unique accommodations. Indeed it is an expensive country (not one of the cheapest in Southeast Asia, but definitely worth a stopover.
If you are looking for a place that gives you plenty of good sleep but also nice features and touches with a pinch of creativity, you should book the Bus Collective.
What you can clearly call a beautiful graveyard for public buses is instead a boutique hotel made up of retrofitted buses that have been completely transformed into stylish and fancy rooms. I mean, the creativity of the space will inspire you to take some of the best photos from Singapore.
Even if you are staying one night in Singapore, you should definitely stay here. The Bus Collective is located close to Changi Airport, so, also perfect for a stopover.
Location: Various locations around Singapore
Best time to visit: Evening for the cosy outdoor lighting

Capri by Fraser
Thanks to its rooftop pool, Capri by Fraser is another instagrammable hotel in Singapore worth staying in. It combines convenience with style, and it has a perfect balance between business and leisure.
The eye-catching and colourful lobby will make you fall in love as soon as you step inside the hotel. Make sure you book your accommodation in advance as it’s always fully booked. We were lucky to reserve one night before leaving for Malaysia.
Location: 3 Changi Business Park Central 1
Best time to visit: Late afternoon to evening
Instagram cafes in Singapore

Rumah Bebe
This place goes straight into the list of the hidden gems of Singapore. Technically a restaurant, but it offers a wide array of activities, from simple coffee to shops and tours. Located in one of the most colourful and vibrant areas of the city, Rumah Bebe is one of the most instagrammable cafes in Singapore!!
Located in a restored 1930 Peranakan shophouse, this café is not just about food and coffee but also serves as a cultural showcase for Peranakan art and heritage. The interior is a visual treat, with vibrant tiles, intricate furniture, and colourful displays of traditional Peranakan wares.
The restaurant is small but cosy, offering a unique, homely atmosphere; you should try their curry puff.
Location: 113 East Coast Road.
Best time to visit: Late morning or early afternoon for natural light.
Coach cafe
While returning to our accommodation in Singapore, we stepped inside this cute cafe without knowing that it was Coach Cafe. I entered just because I saw all the designs in pink and spotted a nice handbag, so I wanted to check it out.
It is indeed a chic Instagram experience, and you can get so many cute pictures while sipping a coffee. Before entering the cafe itself, you will see a display of the brand’s signature handbags, so if you want to do some shopping before getting a coffee, make sure you check them out.
Location: 5 Orchard Road, Wisma Atria
Best time to visit: Afternoon for a laid-back coffee break
Kopikhoo Coffee window
Coffee lovers will pin this spot on the map. They will pass you the coffee from a cute, wooden window of a house. Kopikhoo Coffee might not be the ultimate Instagram spot in Singapore, but it is definitely a unique experience. I mean, isn’t every day that you find tiny coffee shops and creative ways to serve clients like that.
Actually a latte here is one of the cheapest in Singapore, and tasty too. With just $3.50 (SGD) you will get a frothy coffee and a nice photo with the window in the foreground. Kopikhoo is located just a short walk from the Peranakan houses, so you can include this in your day out in Singapore.
Location: Tembeling Rd
Best time to visit: They observe specific opening times from 8AM to 12 and from 1PM to 4PM.

Best time to visit Singapore
The best time to visit Singapore is from October to April when the weather is perfect and not extremely hot. We visited Singapore in different months, and the wettest one was at the end of September, with some heavy rains.
